Had to come all the way from Isaan and met roughly ½ hour ago a guy in his sixties sitting on Sukhumvit street between Soi 20 and 22 with the following message in front of him:

Found Job

Need Room, Food and Visa

I leave any comments to others……

:o A story I don't tell many people.

Back in the early 90's, 1991 and 1992, I spent almost two years in BKK without a job. I watched most of my savings go down to almost nothing. I remember one Christmas, the guest house where I was staying was to have a free Christmas party for everyone staying there. Only problem was, they would be exchanging gifts, and each person coming to the party was supposed to bring one small gift. Food was free, and the menu was to be good and plentiful. I was living on one meal of Kao Pad a day, so I wanted to go to that party, just for the meal. But I couldn't handle the gift I would have to give. Didn't have the money for that. I was supporting a Thai family (4 people) and they got most of my available money.

I was pretty low. Fortunatly, I got a job offer in February, and it put me back on my feet.

I never make judgements on what others have to do to survive. There but for the grace of god.....

:D

He gets an "A" for effort. He is an eye sore, however. Throwing him small change just keeps him begging for more.
