trying to get my linksys 2.4 ghz wireless (from the US) up finally but it wont work. i can login to my wireless router but theres no actual data flow, i.e. i cant do anything online. what needs to be done to make this work?

reset the wireless router.

The way I read your problem:

Jacked in the linksys card (I use the same).

It looks like it's working, and it detects your wifi network.

But there's no data flow.

No Panic.

I get this quite a lot. Just unplug the wifi base router and plug it back in.

obviously your pc will say "wifi network now disconnected"

Wait a couple of minutes for it to set in.

When your pc detects the reset, you're back in business.

I'll be online for a bit longer. and back again later.

Do you mean that you've never got linksys card working, or this Wifi router?

Let me know how it goes.

Ah... <deleted>. I misunderstood which Linksys you were using. My bad.

I reckon it's Probably a Port Forwarding Issue, but frankly, I'm not sure I know enough about this.

Until one of the tech guys comes online, why not have a rummage through, perhaps clearer and more concise to your needs HERE

This link (above this sentence) should give you 8 pages of search results based upon the keywords of your problem. I am fairly sure your problem has already been addressed several times. Your own thread is the first/most recent result in the results.

I'm sure one of the Tech-xperts will be along in no time though.

Good luck.

PS: I wish I was more knowledgable about these things.
