On several occasions I got the impression that in Thailand anybody can file a complaint with the police against somebody without any evidence and the police makes no investigation but arrests the accused person immediately. If the accused cannot prove his innocence immediately then and there at the police station or pays money to the accuser to withdraw his complaint, the case gets sent to court. -- Maestro If you think that is bad - any Filipino can have you tossed in jail on a myriad of charges and the police are allowed to adjudicate.
