Hotmail And Windows Live Mail - Still Not Working! Aaaaargh!

Hello :o

It seems my recent thread on this topic has been removed (why??) as i can't find it.... anyway, my Live Mail synchronizing issue is STILL present. Last time it happened it was only for one day, but this time it's in the fourth day already and still not working. I have already tried various options to fix it but to no avail - Windows Live Mail will how headers of messages but will refuse to download the messages themselves. It still works fine with Outlook so there's no problem with the accounts (two hotmail.com and one live.com).

Does anyone else here encounter the same issues?

Best regards.....

Thanh

This one?: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?sh...=153867&hl= :o

Hi :D

No, not THAT one... that's over a month old. I put one there just like three days ago, and it "disappeared" completely. Strange. Well my problem still persists, i have three e-mail responses from Microsoft customer service already and they seem to be working on it. Anyway i'll be going on holiday today and will be without regular internet access for two weeks, so if they have it fixed by then it's ok for me. If still not...... maybe i just set them on fire or something :D

The problem by the way also exists on a fresh WLMd install on a Windows XP machine that never had WLMd before, so the problem is neither with my computer, nor Vista, nor the internet connection.

Best regards....

Thanh

I have had similar problem with hotmail after downloading windows live. It works 50%

Talking of emails.

The NSA now has real-time access to your emails. You are more at risk of your privacy being violated if you use macafee, symatic and zone alarm as it links the the NSA system.

Paranoia and cluelessness are a dangerous mix...

It is true that almost all American companies bend over as soon as an intelligence service calls - AT&T and other telcos have been freely giving out customer information to the NSA for years. Hotmail would give your info to them in an instant, Yahoo even does this for Chinese authorities. But only on request.

But back doors and/or "control of SSL proxies" - that's silly.

Here's the original post http://cryptome.org/nsa-ssl-email.htm - see the response by Guardster.

May you take a look at the following articel because there is an problem with WindowsLivw Onecare!

""Windows Live OneCare randomly expires

Microsoft's Windows support forum found a throng of users yesterday complaining of their Windows Live OneCare subscriptions inexplicably showing up as having been terminated.

This left many scrambling to find out whether OneCare was still providing them with updates, firewall, and antivirus protection, or if Microsoft had forgotten about them.

The forum's moderator sought to deter panicked users from calling tech support, saying that the subscription/profile server/database issue would be corrected within 24 hours. One user who spoke to the call center reported that he received the response, "We cannot confirm that your computer is being protected."

Microsoft Program Manager Kapil Rastogi has posted on the forum that it is a temporary glitch in the billing system affecting only a limited number of subscribers. He says Microsoft will work directly with those affected to correct account status and address interruptions in the OneCare service.""

Yes I am having trouble too!!

Hotmail won't open for 4 days now, but will open in internet cafes...

Gmail doesn't open every time and even when it does I have to use basic html mode...

Everything else is fine.

I know everyone's gonna say "use gmail, hotmail is rubbish", but I like to keep my hotmail account for friends/family and gmail for work...

I've already tried clearing cookies and temp internet files...that did nothing...what should I do??

What planet do you come from?? Stop MS-bashing all over the forum! What does OneCare have to do with the glitch in this topic?! Just GO AWAY AND DON'T COME BACK!

Again, this issue is 100% with TRUE, retards that they are...I have no problem using WLMD from my university's KSC-based connection. On TRUE at home there are A LOT of pages that haven't worked for days.

Hotmail isn't working for me since last night.

They said you have to change it to Firefox or get rid of True foxy and then connect directly.

Haven't tried. I'll wait for lil bit more to see if True is doing something to fix this sh/t.

Thank God TV and other sites I often visit are working!! Yahoo is working fine so far. Why is it only hotmail, I wonder.

My Hotmail has no problems even with CrapStar Internet. IE 7, Firefox and FLOX all have no problems opening the site..

Where are you? Loie or Bkk or wherelse?

I'm in Loei where CrapStar is probably the worst in the entire country. I play with a number of different browsers. Only Opera has problems opening certain sites including Hotmail.

I am in Bang Na and the problem seems to be with “TRUE” I cannot access hotmail or yahoo and several other websites from my home or office using IE7, Firefox or Opera.

I can only access hotmail and yahoo using a proxy server. However, I can access my mail through my dopod with no problems.

Could it be something to do with the elections?

I’m facing the same problems like you, can’t enter certain websites and IE cite my connection and IPS server wasn’t right. You could be right on the national election using up entire internet resources, bandwidth or filter out some international sites.

Regarding the OP's issue...

I use Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 to manage my Hotmail account. I had to download an add-in, called Microsoft Office Outlook Connector.

After installation you are prompted to add your Hotmail account details, then your account shows up as a folder within Outlook. It works well, although a bit different than managing POP accounts, like Gmail.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello :o

Sorry for my delay, i have only today returned from a 14-day holiday in Chiang mai where i was basically without internet, except for a D-TAC mobile with a whopping 5 kb/s speed. So here's the updates on my original issue:

Still present.

Meaning that Windows live mail still doesn't get e-mails from either one of the three Hotmail/Live accounts. Outlook XP DOES get them, and i can access the website just fine (Hotmail). So the problem is neither with my computer nor with TRUE in my case (Bangna too).

This very problem does now persist since quite a long time already and i wonder what may be the reason?

@LeungKen are you using Vista, XP or..? It's Vista Ultimate 32bit for me, latest Windows Live Mail build (1606).

With kind regards....

Thanh
