To any one out there.

Ive been in thailand for about 6 months now, staying on a non O visa to visit my girlfriend of 2 years. We have now married although not registered yet ,we plan to do this early in the new year.

What i am trying to find out is how this will affect my visa status. Do i have to apply for a new visa before i can stay annually or can i upgrade my normal type O visa to a type O marriage visa, and then stay. Ive no wish to go back to the UK.

Also if after I get a marriage visa, do i have to get a reentry permit to visit the uk for a holiday for a few months.

Any one have some tips.

There is no such thing as a marriage visa - what you have is as close as it gets. I expect what you want to do is extend your stay for family reasons after the marriage and that will require 40k per month family income proof and you can do during the last 30 days of any entry on your current visa. Once an extension of stay is granted (one year at a time) you must have a re-entry permit prior to any outside travel to keep that extension alive.
