I heard a light plane, Cessna L-19, crashed on takeoff at Pattaya Airpark earlier this week. The pilot had some serious injuries, but luckily survived. Does anyone know more about the accident and if anyone else was in the plane?

hmmm, haven't heard anything about it, and normally I hear these things pretty much right after they happen!

I'd reckon there's quite some l-19's around here, or rather the military version coded O1 or "bird dog". These planes were widely used both over Vietnam and Laos as forward air controllers (FAC's).

If it did happen then it doesn't do the reputation of Pattaya Airpark much good as it would have been the third general aviation plane crash there, with some unrecorded ultralight crashes as well!
