Sel
Can anybody point me in the right direction or give experienced advice? Where can you find out the laws about renting videos to the public through a video rental shop? Do you have to pay royalties? Thanks in advance. paulfr
It sounds like you have little or no experience with video rental. Very few businesses can be successful without a very good understanding of the business and its environment. So my suggestion is find a business owner already in the business somewhere and pay him (or offer to work for free) to teach you over a 1-3 month period. You will need to convince him you will not be competing with him, so just pick a different city and give him a signed agreement that you will not operate within some radius of his location (100 miles ??) Make sure you are financed well. Going into a business blind is a sure fire way to lose a lot of money fast.
bartender100
If you are thinking of doing this in Thailand,I think you would have more chance of succeeding opening a bar instead. Most of the big supermarkets have video rental shops,at very low price.I might be wrong, but I think blockbuster tried to get in the market here and failed,to much pirated stuff around.
