Renewed my 12 month multiple entry "O" in Nov 07 if that counts as recent enough for you?

The paperwork I took was:

Passport

Completed application form (you collect this in the embassy visa section and can complete whilst waiting for your queue number to be called)

1 passport photo

Fee of S$220 (I'd check this hasn't changed now!)

Copy of my Thai marriage certificate (signed and dated by my wife & I)

Copy of my wife's Thai ID card (signed & dated by my wife)

Copy of my Thai bank statement showing minimum Bt400k balance ... I have heard that the bank statement does not have to be a Thai one, can be in any currency so long as the balance equates to Bt400k ... however the statement MUST be dated in the same month in which you make your application ... internet statement was accepted for my application

Take the above to the embassy in the morning - arrive early, it gets busy. If accepted, you collect your passport the following afternoon. Personally, I always take my application on a Friday morning - the embassy is very quiet then as most applicants don't wish to spend the weekend in Singapore - and collect it the following Monday, when it also very quiet.

Hope this helps

Oh yeah, it helps very much indeed!

I was just wondering, are you 100% positive on 400k deposit as a requirement, I've heard that the amount could be also inferior, as long as you have one?

That suppose to be the old requirement in order to get the Year extension based on Family support, isn't?

The certain thing is that is a big mess being in Thailand nowadays!

Thanks a lot Captain Chaos.

Yes, pretty certain ... you will be denied a 12 month, multi-entry "O" if you do not have Bt 400k equivalent to show ... however, you can still get a 3 month, multi entry "O" if you just have the evidence of marriage but not of financial means...

This has nothing to do with requirements for extension of stay, which you would apply for in Thailand after having obtained your visa at an embassy somewhere outside.

Different embassies appear to intepret visa rules differently ... Singapore's seems to be that if they are going to grant you a visa that lets you come and go within the Kingdom for 90 day periods over the next year (on the basis of having family there in this case), then you should be able to show an appropriate level of funds to support yourself for that time ... and the embassy has (arbitrarily as far as I know) picked Bt400k as the amount you need...
