I noticed the other day a Vigo that looked like it had undergone a rear suspension modification, ie. the leaf springs replaced with a coil spring and shock absorber set up. Has anyone got any experience with this, does it work, improve the ride and handling etc. Any recommendations as to where you can get this done. Thanks.

They would do a good job of containing all the heat and 'crap' generated by those expensive calipers and possibly impair thier effectivenes.

Just wot you dont want after spending out 'big bucks' to improve a truck :o:D

I know that the Fortuner is Vigo based and, presumably, the chassis has a lot in common with the Vigo. Have never really looked under a Vigo so don't know if the mounting points for the Fortuner set-up are there or not. Even if they're not, it shouldn't be too difficult to graft a Fortuner system on. You'd need to be pretty mad on pickups to do that, though. Plus, when it's time to move it on, you might find it difficult to find a buyer. Somchai won't be interested unless he can load it up until the headlights are satellite-spotting. :o

Question; Why don't the manufacturers put disc brakes on the rear axle of pickup trucks?

Answer; Because that are NOT needed. All the effective braking come from the front disc brakes. The rear is light and most of the weight transfers to the front when braking heavily. If not for ABS the drum brakes would lock up before the front discs.

Er, I think most of us knew that, Gary A...
