Hi, I'm wondering what would be the cheapest way to transfer money from a thai bank account to a canadian one. I will be working in Thailand, but will need to pay back my student loans from my line of credit, so i would need to transfer money from my thai account to my canadian one. I know there is Western Union, but I'm not familiar with them. Also the thai bank I will open an account with would probably be able to do it, but there would be some fee for that transfer, and I have no idea how much it could be.

Any help would be appreciated.

In your case it would be easy to telex transfer money out from your Thai bank, can't remember the fee but I think it was in the region of 200 baht if I remember right. It wasn't expensive anyway, not like when transferring in!

Or get a bank draft from your Thai bank in foreign currency and post it.
