Are there any actual free registry cleaners that work?

I can only find ones that scan then tell you pay up.

Plus I couldn't dl CCleaner from here say got a NSIS(? forgot actual message) problem

CCleaner I used it for years latest version is best ever.  Many config options and can include other programs to be cleaned up.

I think you can set it to run at shut down or start up or just use it manual which is what I did.

I'm a fan of tune up utilities

I use both CCleaner and Glary and one always seems to pick up something the other one didn't. Both have received good reviews in the BP and are very easy to use.
