January 28, 200818 yr Need to replace / repair a couple of air con remote controls......Carrier brand. Anyone know of place in Samui? Already tried those so-called universal remotes for aircon from Tesco and does not work! Thanks.
January 28, 200818 yr I don't know Amorn is somewhere around but if than that is the place to go. Take you old Remote with you for to compare. You can even check with their Website at: http://www.amorngroup.com/index2.asp but unfortunate that site is in Thai only. But Armorn is the biggest Supplier for any kind of Electronics in Thailand and even a lot Spareparts for: Air-Cons, any Houshold machnery and so on. You can get a lot replacement parts even for the most european products. Cheers.
January 28, 200818 yr we had to get one in Augsut & went to a shop near hinta hinyai. Coming from Lamai on the main ring road, pass the last exit out of lamai on the right hand side & go past the Post office on the left, nearly opposite there is a small parade of shops on the other side of the road and the aircon shop is the last one, near a tattoo shop & a couple of other shophouses. Nice lady there, she had to order our remote but it came in less than 24hrs & cost 800b.

January 28, 200818 yr Forgot we also tried a place in Maenam too, approx 500m past the main parade of shops & on the left hand side if coming from Chaweng & near the big petrol station which was another few hundred yeards on the other side of the road(sorry cant be more specific cause I dont know the area very well).
January 30, 200818 yr If you are at all mechanically inclined.....usually all that is wrong is a bad/dirty contact. I've fixed many a remote control by just taking it apart and putting it back together. You just need a small screwdriver to remove the screws and then seperate the halves. The only part inside that is removable is usually a rubber key pad. Check the battery contacts, take a look, put it back together, it works 95 percent of the time.
