February 7, 200818 yr Hello boys and girls Going to get married soon; & have been looking at the fiancé settlement option; the only stumbling block is she wants to get married back at her home village in Thailand (don't they all ) I'm trying to figure out if the fiancé settlement visa; means we have to get married in England; or can she stay with me for 18 months; then we go back to Thailand & keep everyone happy? Any ideas?? Thanks Bubble
February 7, 200818 yr The fiancée visa would give her six months in the UK during which you would be expected to marry. Your wife would then apply to the Home Office for an extension of two years. There is nothing stopping you marrying in the UK and then later celebrating the marriage with a party in Thailand. Scouse.
February 8, 200818 yr It'll also work out cheaper and less hassle (visa applications and costs) to get married in Thailand.
