Traveling With Dog From Bangkok To Koh Samui

Featured Replies

Hello,

I will be moving to Thailand in about a month and have been trying to do as much research as I can to bring my 10 lb. miniature pinscher with me. Most of the paperwork has been figured out, but the only question I can not find an answer for is if I can bring my dog in the cabin with me on the flight from Bangkok to Koh Samui. Has anyone had to deal with this before? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This whole process has not been easy. :o

Thanks!

~D

i'm not sure you can have your dog with you in the cabin, rather not. but to be sure, just contact bangkok airways. usually the dogs will travel in a cage. the flight is only not even one hour, so should not be a big problem.

would not recommend to give a sedative for the dog as requested by airline. if they ask just tell them that you have given a pill already...

Ok thanks! I've sent bangkok airways an email so we'll see what they say. As long as she can come on the plane, whether in the cabin or in a cage, i'll be happy.

When we moved to the island 4 years ago we brought two Jack Russels and Bangkok Airways didn't allow them in the cabine. They also insist you

give them a sedative and like Elfe already mentioned just say you already did! When we asked why they had to be given a sedative, they replied

that they don't want the passengers bothered by dogbarking ... as if you can hear them barking! Btw ... I've also got 2 minpins .... lovely dogs!

Try to use EMS service

;-)

can you really ship a dog via EMS or were you joking?

Thanks for the reply. I received an email back from Bangkok Airways and they said I can bring her on the plane (but not in the cabin) so you both were right!! I just have to check to make sure there is room on the plane.
