hello all,

I was wondering if anyone knows or could help me find a doctor specialized in sleeping disorder. So far, nothing found in Chiangmai!

I have been suffering from serious sleeping problems, affecting my daily life. Also, I have been in Ram Hospital, asking for help, they send me to see a psychiatric doctor, who not only wasted my time, but diagnosed me as being insomniac ( I am actually not insomniac ), suggest that I take either antidepressant or sleeping pills, which are bad for health.

Anyway, would be great if someone could suggest a place.

Thank you

A freind of mine has recently seen a specialist regarding a sleep disorder at Suan Dork hospital in CM.

He had a sleep apneia test, but was not particularly impressed with them

You may well have to go to one of the big hosptals in Bangkok.

I would suggest that you post this topic on the Health forum for more informed assistance

Good Luck, sleeping problems are a real pain.

PS. The Ram is a useless hospital IMO and it is no surprise that you wasted your time and money there.

Suan Dok has at least one neurologist on their staff (through the Sripat Special Clinic on the 13th floor) who can diagnose sleeping disorders (I doubt that most of the neurologists specialize in this). I forget the guy's name but I wasn't overly impressed with him, either. At least he only charged 350 baht for the consultation and gave me the controlled prescription I wanted.

So in your opinion if you were having heart troubles, where would you go in CM? Good question! Excuse my bad eyes, this helps.

Hi,

I have some valerian root and Kava Kava to assist in natural sleep. I also use melitonin to reset my sleep cycly when I need to, IE when traveling to different time zones. All are natural, but work well. I am certain, that after eating a few valarian and melitonin capsules, and two cups of kava, you are going under! But the sleep is good sleep, and you do not wake feeling groggy like you would if you took meds. PM me if you want more info on these sleep aids.

i have tried kava kava before and yes it does help quite a bit. most importantly like mentioned above, its natural. i hope that you get over this sleeping problem. its horrible when one cannot get some rest.

check yourself for anxiety/panic disorder first though. important.

Wow thanks a lot! I'll check out Suan Dork Hospital tomorrow!

I though that Ram was the best hospital in CM...

Thanks a lot! I can give it a go! However, I refuse taking medecin! But maybe he can see what's going on with me.

Thanks for the tips, I'll do some more investigation about these. For the melatonin caps, i prefere not taking them, since it might get me depressed ( I read) and can give other bad side effect. I wanted to check my level, but they don't have enough information about this hormone, so couldn't do.

Sleep problems are hard to deal with, especially with depression. Might be the depression cause the sleep problem or vis versa! Pills are short term relief, and often bad for health. Lucky that you get good sleep, I don't even know what is good sleep...!

I believe THESE PEOPLE might have Kava Kava for you. Seem to be listed on Alibaba as wholesalers and exporters of kava kava. Hope you do not mind reporting back after contacting them.
