Just wondered if anyone has had any success getting through to the 0870 number for Croydon - I have been trying all morning and get either busy or number not in use or it rings and goes dead. The number for all the regional offices is the same - not looking good!!!

The immigration enquiry bureau is currently experiencing problems which mean that most customers will be unable to get through to us.

We have engineers working on the problem and hope to have the phone lines fully operational as soon as possible.

Just a point of note - I have called the number three times now and everytime I have spoke to someone of foreign origin. Totally fine, no issue with that but it is a rather bizarre coincidence and given they are all Indian sounding - is the call centre even located in the UK?

Just an observation. The lady today was lovely and very helpful and no issue with my Scottish accent (some would say just as foreign) but still - a rather bizarre coincidence that everytime I call it is someone of foreign origin.
