Train Wreck Last Night?

Featured Replies

I was at Udon Thani last night trying to get the 8 p.m. train to Bangkok, and was told there had been a "wreck," and that the train would not be coming until sometime in the middle of the night. Was also told, contrary to the info I'd been given, that the "sleeper" trains only run out of UT in the morning ... and the night trains aren't sleeper. That's too stupid even for words, I'd think, but who knows?

Has anyone heard anything about a train wreck? Thanks...

I suspect there was a delay due to to a vehicle accident or some such thing, probably not even the same train. The 8:10 should have had sleeper cars so perhaps they thought you said "sprinter" which is the DRC that runs in the early morning.

Thanks ... but he understood me. He said, "seats go back but no bed. Sleeper train runs in the morning."

Which is just ... well it's just ... too.

I caught the bus and got to BKK about 4.30, and slept late in my own bed.
