My girlfriend applied for her first visitor visa to visit me 11am on Tuesday, She was in the office less than less than half an hour to get through the whole process. We said in the application that she would be in the UK the full six months, didn't have a job to go back to and that we didn't want the visa to start until mid April, so weren't in a rush. We didn't go near any agents or agencies or get any documents translated. VLS told her to ring up on Thursday morning to see whether an interview would be required. She rang up 9am, no questions no nothing from them, except they just said the result was ready at the office and she could pick up that afternoon. 1pm she picked her passport and documents, pasport had a visa and she is still excited and delighted. For a change, all praise and thanks to the officers at VLS and the British Embassy in Bangkok for efficient rapid service with a good result woop woop!!
