Opening Bank Account With Non-b Education Visa, Transfer £8000

Hi,

I am coming to Thailand shortly, hopefully on a non.B education visa.

Am I able to open a bank account with this?

And if so, will there be problems with transfering £8000 from the Uk.

With a non imm you shouldnt get any problems..

Tho I should point out.. An education visa is a non imm ED.. A non imm B is for business use.

Which is preferable for bringing a few thousand USD into Thailand to be deposited in a Thai bank account. Traveler's check or Wire transfer?
