Barclaycard Transfer

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Any idea of the quickest and most economical way to send money to a UK Barclaycard?

Its registered to a UK address. I do not have a UK Bank Account to transfer from at the moment. I work in Thailand an earn Baht. Would the easiset way be to send a cheque to them in Thai Baht? Dont really want to be hit on the EX rate, but what to do?

Any advise appreciated.

Thanks!

Dont think barclaycard are going to want to get a baht cheque ?? I would image they want to be paid in pounds sterling by the due date..

Technically they will cancell your card if they find out your living full time in Thailand.. I had a mega fight with them and I have a specialist private banker setup holding some chunky assets. They solved it by going with Barclays infinite which is more global.

Personally I just make sure I keep a GBP account have a direct debit to auto pay my visa bill. Only reason I have that GBP account really.

Have you got a friend or relative in the UK who can paid on your behalf either in cash at the Barclays branch or with a UK cheque. You can then work out how to repay them.

Not have a UK bank account is a very bad idea. I suggest that you open one next time you go back, if you can get around address verification requirements

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I will pay it through a relative and then transfer the funds to their account. Seems the easiest option.

Thanks again!
