February 28, 200818 yr How do you go about changing the registration for a motorcycle from Chonburi to Bangkok? Will need new plates also since they are printed with the province on them. Thank you for any help.
February 29, 200818 yr Author I did not ask if I need a new plate, I stated the fact that I DID NEED to get a new plate. What I need to know is do I need to go to Chonburi office first to begin the transfer, or can I just go to a Bangkok DOT office to move registration and get the new plate. I have heard that the process to move the registration is not easy.
February 29, 200818 yr I stated you will get a new plate. If only transferring ownership in Chonburi you don't get a new plate. New plates will of course be issued in BKK. Yes it is easy for most people!

I have the Green Registration book and an insurance certificate. I also have the current registration. Do I need to extend the insurance another year before going? Also, do I need another residency certificate from either the local Amphoe, Immigration or my embassy again? What other documents would I need? Thank you.

You also need signed copies of sellers tambien baan and ID card, signed copies of your passport and visa, letter conf. residency. The green book must be signed by seller and 2 documents in Thai that are the bill of sale and power of attorney signed by seller.

March 2, 200818 yr I suggest best to go to your local office with a Thai speaker and ask what they need, probably proof of who you are (passport), proof of where you live, (yellow tabien bahn) or letter from immigration plus ID and Tabien bahn of householder. Not sure you need to do this until tax is due though. I am still waiting to see where my new Yamaha is registered, bought from Yamaha in Chiang Mai, but my address and home is Khon Kaen, only needed passport, visa copies and copy yellow tabien bahn.
