Prasong warns govt not to use power too much too soon

(BangkokPost.com) - Prasong Soonsiri called on the government not to use its power too much too soon in revenging those who failed to cooperate with it.

Sqn-ldr Prasong meant the abrupt transfer of four chiefs since the government took power last month.

...........................................

Sqn-ldr Prasong said the government has not yet administered the country but already moved several chiefs from their posts.

He warned the government that people are keeping an eye on it, so it should not use its power at will.

Who is keeping an eye on it? Is it some secret? Or just more anti-popular-elected-government rhetoric? Or just more of the same sour grapes because the people of Thailand voted for the PPP and not the "chosen group" of the elite/military-dictatorship-sympathisers?

I expect he meant the majority of people who have had the luxury of a university education, and those who otherwise take an interest in the government of the country.

I don't think so.

I would have thought that the educated population would want to keep an eye on the party that allowed it's leader to change tax laws for the purpose of personal enrichment. It worked so well that a couple of months later he could avoid paying taxes on a sum of money that was a little less than 1% of the GDP for the whole of Thailand in 2006.

It would make even more sense for the population as a whole to do what they did already and select the PPP as their government. But having said that, please re-read the original post: it concerns Khun Prasong and the Samak government.

I'm actually being quite serious. When any government allows such an egregious betrayal of the public trust, and wanton pillaging of the national wealth, that a military coup is the only way forward, it is expected that the next few governments would be watched like a hawk. This is just common sense.

PPP = TRT. I can read thank you. I'm actually being quite serious. When a government allows such an egregious pillaging of the national wealth which then results in a military coup. It is absolutely expected that the next government should be watched like a hawk, even more so when it is made up of like-minded individuals. This is just common sense.

The people who should be watched are the FACIST sympathisers of the coup-makers. The "national wealth" --in their minds' eye-- belongs to the select clique.

And they should be watched too. Nobody is innocent. But it doesn't make sense to wear blinders and ignore the misdeeds of the party you support. All parties, all governments, all politicians should be watched carefully by the general population.

What's with all the similarly-sounding platitudes from the pro-dictatorship lot on this forum? One might suspect that you are all the same person, though that couldn't possibly be true (????).

Just because you're becoming more delusional and paranoid with each passing post, doesn't mean we're not all out to get you! :o

You seem to have lost the plot entirely and are sounding totally ridiculous to any sane person who follows Thailand / ThaiVisa.

Do you have something to say about Prasong, i.e., the subject of this thread?
