Hi

Has anyone recently been to Kuala Lumpur to get a non immigrant o visa?

My husband will be going soon and he needs to convert his non b to non o. Can anyone advise what paperwork is needed? Also does KL work the same as Penang, i.e. application has to be in before 12.00 one day and can be picked up the next day?

Does anyone know of any cheap, but clean, guest houses that are near the consulate?

Any help would be appreciated :o

Be best to advise on what basis - marriage to a Thai - Thai child - over age 50?

Husband and I are both British (yes, I know it is a bit unusal).

No children and husband is 67 years old. I work and have a work permit and am 57 years old

And are you on an annual extension of stay? If so he could obtain with your paperwork as your spouse and obtain a matching extension from Immigration. Singapore has a policy to issue a multi entry non immigrant O visa to those over age 50 upon proof of 800k (at current baht rate) in a bank account anywhere. Not sure that KL will issue more than a single entry and expect him to obtain a retirement extension of stay from Immigration. If he has 65k pension/income or 800k baht in bank account 3 months or a combination he could obtain a retirement extension of stay directly from Immigration and not have to travel.

Thank you Lopburi. Yes I am on an annual extension of stay in Samui and just have to report to Immigration every 3 months but my annual visa runs out on 14th March and my company are preparing the paperwork for me. My husband has a monthly pension and a annual pension and we also have my monthly income. However, my husband does not particularly want a retirement visa. Can he still get a non immigrant "o" on my paperwork and then just report to Samui immigration?

Believe they will want him to start with a Consulate issued visa - so he takes copy of your passport/extension of stay and proof of your marriage and visits Consulate to obtain a single entry non immigrant O visa - then, before the 90 days in Thailand are up he visits Immigration to extend his stay to match yours.

Hi lopburi3,

Sorry to be a pain in the butt but I've got a couple of questions.

You advised Brisi for a Non Imm "O" Multiple. Advice taken on board.

However, flights to the UK are about the same as to Brisi.

Could I (Aussie passport) get the same visa from Hull, UK.?

Therebye combining it with a visit to aged Father in the UK.

Secondly, could I just go to Singapore, demonstrate funds in an Aussie credit union and get the same visa?

Cheers

Geoff
