Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy some trifle sponges ( like the ones in Bird's trifle form the UK ) or can someone tell me how they are made because I want to make a trifle for a birthday celebration. Also do you need an oven or can these made using a microwave?

Cheers

Any sponge cake will do the trick so long as it's not strongly flavoured / coloured (no chocolate black-forest cake). Cut it into 1" cubes and let it dry out a bit before soaking in sherry / port / Drambuie (if you like it of course).

The things in Birds trifle mix are just dried out sponge (so they keep for 100 years).

Try this http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/traditi...le,1567,RC.html if you're not on a diet :o:D :D
