Foreign backpackers deny they're bed bug spreaders

LAMPHAI INTATHEP & AMORNRAT MAHITTHIROOK

Foreign backpackers say they are disgusted by bed bugs, but even more disgusted by the suggestion they are the ones carrying the insects onto trains. Many foreign backpackers waiting for trains at Hua Lampong station yesterday conceded they knew little about bed bug infestations on trains.

Sawittee Malaipan, an entomologist at Kasetsart University, said some foreigners, including refugees and tourists, did not like to take baths and so they attracted the insects.

Not pointing the finger at anyone specifically! :o

A walk down kao sahn road should provide ample opportunity to prove whether his theory is correct or not. :D

Source?

Things are getting better here for foreigners, she did say, "some" when saying foreigners don't bathe.

I take it that had these bugs been Crab Lice then the finger would be pointing at sex pats.

Joking asside a disgusting display of just how racist Thai society is.

Everthing unsavoury is always the fault of foreigners. Which foreigners? Chinese, Indians? No, back backer farangs are to blame. After all they are obviously disease ridden. I assume the planes they arrived on also have the same infestations then? Oops, never heard of that one. Must be a foreign airline cover up as this couldn't possibly be a Thai problem.

As an aside go to the provinces and see the Thais plucking the lice out of each others hair. :o

The Bangkok Post sure pulled that story off the internet quickly!

Anybody save the original story and wish to post it here? I'd like to read it.

It was suggest by a memeber of the UGLY Cabinet that backpackers were the source of the Bed Bug. :D:D:DB) shame on that person :D:o:D:D
