Hi there.

Just wondering if anyones had any experience with getting a visa (non-imm O) in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

HI no experience with the non-immigrant 0 but I did get a tourist visa at the Thai consul in Kathmandu over 4 years ago.

It was very hard to find and there was no Thai Flag waiving out front. If I remember correctly it was on a road with a few other embassies/ consulates.

There were 2 Nepalese women working the counter and it was a simple table and not one person waiting. It was much more basic then then even the Penang consulate. I know there are large Nepalese communities in Thailand but I think it is safe to say that they don't have the same experience as some of the other consuls with non immigrant visas.

I would recommend to call them first.

Thanks for the reply.

I called them this morning and was told that they only hand out Thai visas if you have an address in Nepal.

I guess I'll just wait and go for a holiday instead.

Oh well, back to the usual Singapore jaunt then.

Thanks again. :o

When I used to have to do a Visa run I would trek in Nepal and pick up a double tourist Thai visa on the way out.Did it many times but they would NEVER give me a non immi O,I don't know why but I do know that Thailand does have differant rules in each country it comes from the "I am a Thai big shot mentality" :D:o:D:D I haven't needed a visa in years though.
