The Tourism Authority of Thailand or TAT’s region 4 office have sent to Andaman News their official or final figures for visitors to Krabi in 2007, showing just over 2.1 million came, up nearly 23% compared to 2006. Their average length of stay was 4.03 days, and average expenditure 3,144 baht, both about the same as in 2006, but the total revenue was calculated at about 24.7 billion baht, up nearly 25%. This was mainly based on reports from 351 hotels with 12,442 rooms but only 58% occupancy. Among those checked in to the hotels, in descending order of nationalities, there were 584,800 Thai visitors up 22%, then 241,400 Swedish visitors up an impressive 73%, then 95,700 German visitors up 6%, then 88,500 British down 2%, and the remaining nationalities were all less than 50,000 each.
