Anyone in Ban Krut/Bang Saphan area have advice for getting internet setup, I'm going to rent a house that already

has a phone line but just wondering what internet service is the best in the area and approximate time for setup.

thanks.

Good idea to try the temporary internet tickets from 7-11 to see which is best for you. I had Loxinfo for about a year but my line was so-so, ergo the service was so-so. Then I moved and didn't have a telephone line.

There is actually one area of Bangsaphan that has broadband ... TTT, I believe. It is roughly within a 5 km radius of the big steel rolling mill there. Also there were some rumors (a couple of years ago) that Thapsakae TOT was planning to expand to certain parts of Ban Krut.

Whatever you do, don't go for IPStar. :o

Possibly consider Edge or Edvo. I know that there is a cell tower near the village in Ban Krut so the signal strength should be good..

Cheers for the reply Klikster, sounds like there is only dial up in the Ban Krut area?

I was hoping for broadband options, maybe wishfull thinking on my part as I dont really know the locale.

Is EDVO the wireless card I have read about? I just need the equivalent of a 1mb connection.

many thanks

I'm not up on the details of EDVO, but if you search this section well, you will find several threads about the "air" card technologies.
