Non-imm-o Married To Thai Wife One 1 Year Visa..no 90 Days Notice

Featured Replies

I'm leaving Thailand tonight for a 2 month stay in the USA with my Thai wife. Though I have lived here for 8 years I have not had to notify Immigration of my stay except when I leave and return. Some of you have been talking about a 90 day requirement.

I'll find out tonight. I have been here for 6 months without any notification.

I'll let you know how it went in 48 hours....unless I am in a Thai jail. :o

Immigration at the airport don't seem to bother about checking your 90 day reports, seems only to become a problem if you need to deal with immigration in town whereupon they'll slap a fine on you.

You're on an extension of stay so don't forget your re-entry permit (get it at the airport, need a photo or two) otherwise you'll be back on 30 day visa exemptions when you try to re-enter :o

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

At departure, immigration does not check if you made your 90-day address reports as required. It’s only if you have to deal with an immigration office for some other business such as an extension of stay or getting a certificate of residence that your failure to make the address reports may be discovered and you may be asked to pay the corresponding fine.

Crossy, I usually only get a photo once a year...when I apply again for my One Year Non Immo in November. Do I need another one when I come back in May? Yikes!!!!!

Unless you already have a re-entry permit you need one for that. That is before you leave Thailand.

That means before you get to the airport - although have one report that someone was able to obtain from tourist police if you get there without.

If you travel without a re-entry permit your current extension ends on your departure tonight.
