Security Screen Doors

Featured Replies

If there is a better place for this post (Real Estate?) please move it.

I'm looking for a retailer in Bangkok (preferably someone who does professional installations) for a "light weight" aluminium security screen door - something like the Amplimesh range available in Australia.

I would leave a door like this locked when at home (or even when not at home for short periods) leaving the original wooden door open to allow a breeze to pass through the living room. And it does add extra security when both doors are locked.

I live in an apartment with security cameras etc so I don't need the Thai style "Fort Knox" welded iron bar door - which are ugly, heavy, redundant, noisy, cumbersome, usually need a padlock, and are usually not screened. I just need something to stop the opportunistic wallet snatcher or whatever, not stop special forces guys in balaclavas with bolt cutters and C-4.

I have looked in Home Pro, Index and similar. I have looked at some of the big home supply/hardware shops along Ratchada. I have looked briefly at Chatuchak. I have searched online. No luck, but I may have missed them. I just expected to be able to find doors like this everywhere.

Can anyone help with suppliers, retailers, installers, or anything. Prices would also be great.

If I can't find an aluminium door, I'd consider a steel door but I'd expect these to be more expensive, in addition to issues raised above. Thanks.
