Thailand's Prime Minister Samak Warns Of Coup Plot

Featured Replies

Samak is crying wolf, just as Thaksin did all the time.

next it will be an assasination plot.

But a military coup did take control from Thaksin so he was right to cry wolf.

Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej said unidentified people are plotting to stage a coup in the country and insisted they won't succeed because he and the army chief are in close contact.

Samak told reporters that people were trying to destabilize his government, and when asked to elaborate said he'd received a leaflet with the names of coup plotters.

Samaks speeches make it worth to learn Thai! They are sooooo funny, unwanted, but funny.

Absolutely, I mean after several very serious assassination attempts! :o

Perpetrated by himself. :o

I think it should be a concern, for most of the Thai people I hear don't think this government is going to last to long. Heard several of them say it will be over before mid year. :o:D:D:D

Samak has no interest in coup for any side, they won't ask for his opinion when the time comes. They don't listen to him much nowadays.

How convenient that the PM has the 'names of the plotters' just days before the next War On Drugs starts on 02 April.

Perhaps he might get his 'possible coup plotters' and 'drug dealers' lists mixed up.

You could add "PAD supporters" to the lists that may be confused.

Samak has no interest in coup for any side, they won't ask for his opinion when the time comes. They don't listen to him much nowadays.

And who exactly might "they" be?

I'm also not sure what you mean by "Samak has no interest in coup for any side,.."

Good question !

Follow the timing ...

PPP get 40% of vote on a pro-Thaksin stance, form a coalition, and become the new government.

Former military-installed government hands over power peacefully, and steps back into the shadows.

Samak shows signs of being his own man, and wishing to serve for a full term.

Thaksin returns for a brief visit, appears before the courts, then leaves again almost immediately, without his frozen assets.

Samak makes PR-blunders but still proceeds to reduce media-freedom to prior TRT levels of control.

Is Thaksin pulling strings, from overseas, to try to regain control over his loyal nominee ?

Stranger things have happened. :o
