Shamrock Pub Khaosan, Not Thai Wife Friendly

Hi,

Went to the Shamrock Pub on Khaosan to catch some live music. The Thai man on he door asks my wife (thai) for ID as proof of age (she is 42). He then gives her one of the most nastiest looks I have ever seen and speaks to her in Thai. We go in and get a drink, wife tells me the man had said to her that this pub did not want no good thai ladies like her.

Finished my drink and left, plenty of other places to spend my baht.

Next night we are walking down Khaosan and i see the same doorman walk out onto the road and attack a disabled Thai man, punched and kicked him. Granted I did not see what had occured before, bu my advise is find somewhere else to drink on Khaosan as i visited numerous bars that were welcoming and friendly.

You should of mentioned it to the manager, they would probably like to know if the doormans being abusive to the customers.

Yes do that....and the next thing you know.....you've got half a dozen Thais on you!

This is Thailand. They don't like customers complaining at places like this...especially if they're farangs.

Anyway avoid KSR altogether. It's a horrible place.

I'm guessing the Shamrock Pub on KSR is a ferang pub which is why the OP mistakenly posted here..
