We've a plan to dispatch several of our distributor teams to do some 'street' selling in the Songkran event areas.

There should be no problem with what we're going to distribute and all method are legal under the law.

However, I'm quite concerned with how the policement will act as we dont plan to rent any tents.

Perhaps, someone here might have an idea of how safe is it to do such thing in Thailand?

if you are not in a secured area of sellers with some infrastructure you simply risk being thrown water on you and your ware damaged

AFAIK you will need the right to sell products which is usually granted area by area by the local district authority; the same people that allow all the noodle sellers etc to set up stalls.

If very very temporary you might be ok.

I'd check with them; where are you planning to sell; if a major songkran party area you WILL get asked for the relevant approvals from the local district; if not then who are you planning to sell to; do your research as Songkran Bangkok is totally empty for the most part.

Thanks for all replies.

I'm currently in Hat Yai, and since there's only a single major Songkran area, we're expecting to be well received by the locals and the tourists alike.

Our product would be imported beverage which shouldnt have any problem with water.

We've discussed the matter with our sales, and there's an agreement to switch their locations every now and then, perhaps, a cart to be able to mobilize the products.

However, after receiving further advises from the team and you, I suppose it's safer to ask for an approval from the local district (I suppose they are the Deshekit).

Many thanks for your help. I really appreciate them.
