qpgwmh Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 My baby son is in Thailand at the moment and I'd love to be able to send him a VCD of his favourite kiddies TV programme. I think it's possible to convert a DVD to a VCD using my home computer but looking at other threads it all seems a bit technical for me. My other worry is that I'll have to buy an official DVD and therefore I'd assume that this is copy protected. This would surely scupper my plans? Any advice/idiots guide to help me along would be really appreciated. Thank you.
Crossy Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 DVD to VCD is not difficult but can become time consuming Start here http://www.videohelp.com/ several idiots' guides using free software
qpgwmh Posted March 31, 2008 Author Posted March 31, 2008 Thanks crossy. Have you ever tried copying from an original DVD, i.e. one you would buy in the shops?
jackspratt Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Thanks crossy.Have you ever tried copying from an original DVD, i.e. one you would buy in the shops? It can be done - google it. However further discussion may be entering forbidden forum waters.
Crossy Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 (edited) Have you ever tried copying from an original DVD, i.e. one you would buy in the shops? Yes, the videohelp site will tell you what you need to know Some DVDs are pretty resistant to copying, as jackspratt notes we are heading into forum rules issues, I suggest reading the videohelp site Edited March 31, 2008 by Crossy
