I recently visited the American Embassy to get my letter confirming my income, which is one option for the retirement visa. While there I asked if I needed a Thai translation copy. They told me that the embassy and Thai Immigration has an agreement that the English copy will be all thats required.

When I got to Phibun they wanted a Thai translation. I explained what the embassy told me. The individual told me he understood but his boss required it. I did not have to have this translation the last time I got the retirement visa.

I wrote the embassy telling them this and they said it was the fist time they have heard of such a thing.

So, if your headed to Phibun for your retirement visa, and you use your an income statement, be sure to have a copy of yor confirmation of income statement transfered to Thai.
