Motorola Razr V3

Hi All

My phone will barely last one day after a full charge even though I never use it. I have bought 2 new batteries 1 real and one here in Thailand and no difference. Has anyone else had this happen and if so can it be fixed? I don't want a new phone as I never make calls on the one I have just like having it in my pocket when out and about for safety so my wife and I can keep in touch if needed.

Check the signal strength in your area.

I have a Nokia that sometimes does the same. A battery will last for days at times and other times I’m lucky if it will last 12 hours. I bought new batteries and they did the same.

I finally figured out it had more to do with my location than a faulty battery. If the phone signal is weak, the phone was constantly hunting to get a signal thereby flattening the battery.

I had to charge that stupid Razr everyday, too and was actually glad when I lost it.

Got a V3i patched it with Woodys firmware, i'm quite happy. You can try to set the Network speed to medium.

Menu>Settings>Network>Network Setup> Speed

^ That firmware looks interesting. Anyway another thing to check is the Bluetooth setup. Often the out of the box set-up is for it to be switched on full time which can be a battery killer. Can be a security issue too.

Menu ->Settings ->Connectivity ->Bluetooth ->Setup -> Power [Off] {Just use find me to create temporary links}

Regards
