Can I 30 Day Soa + 7 Day Extension Three Times?

Featured Replies

I'm on my 3rd 30 day SOA, and my previous 2 have 7 day extensions. I was told by the visa run folks that I wouldn't get a full 30 days on this last one, but the immigration guy didn't scrutinize my passport much and gave me 30 days. Now I don't know if it was a mistake or if the 7 day extensions I paid for the last 2 times don't count towards the 90 day rule.

I have to leave on the 11th to go for a non imm B visa, but the embassy is closed on 14 & 15 for Songkran, so I'd like to get a 7 extension again and wait until Songkran is over with.

If I go to the immigration office here in Bangkok to request a 7 dya extension, and it turns out the last immigration officer gave me too many days on my stamp, can/would the immigration office take the days back and make me leave Thailand right away?

If I just over stay for about a week, would the Kuala Lumpur embassy give me a hard time in getting my non imm B visa if I have an overstay stamp in my passport?

IMHO you've paid for the extension so it counts as an 'extension of stay' and therefore does not form part of the 90 days, obviously the immigration chap was of the same opinion. I have however never seen any documentation that confirms this.

It is not wise to overstay, if you get picked up before getting to the airport you will likely get banged up in the IDC and deported, not what you want :o

That said, nobody has reported issues getting visas or visa exemption stamps after even massive overstays, of course things could change in the future (the future starts tomorrow) and suddenly having an overstay stamp disqualifies you from getting a visa :D

Immigration will likely give you an extension on this latest stamp (it does no harm to ask), if not you should go to KL sooner rather than later.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

They just might ... so don't do it !
