Someone told me Carabao plays at Mae Ping tonight... Anyone else heard about this, or is this yet one more of Mae Pings imitation-gigs like they do with the Elvis impersonation crap all the time?

Yes, Carabao plays at Mae Ping Hotel once every year in the month of October.

I did go and I did enjoy it!!!!! The concert was WAY longer/better than I suspected, they played loads of songs, probably for an hour and a half or so. Also opportunities to get your picture taken with Ad Carabao. So it was cool! And free! Just eat/drink at their beergarden restaurant which is pretty reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant. Try the Chicken-Chaiyo, a whole chicken which involves some running, shouting and setting the beast on fire before serving it. (150 baht) I think I like the new Tiger beer as well, they had it on draft.

Carabao play around 20-25 gigs a month every month of the year, so not too difficult to find them somewhere near at least a few times a year.

they gigged and pattaya last night, (after popping into the blues factory).

Might be another appearence tonight also.

Carabao will be back in Chiangmai on 7th (something to do with Beer Chang, not sure where), 8th (Sukhonta Moo Kata) and for Add's birthday on the 9th of November (Imperial Mae Ping).
