April 12, 200818 yr in the states i used ball jars with excellent results these are designed to keep food stuffs air tight for years such as canning foods, fruits, or preserves they can be opened and reclosed can they be found here or is there a local, just as good, alternative? i did not see an equivalent at tescos just plastic and glass, not sure they are airtight thanks
April 13, 200818 yr You might shop around for one of those machines that seal the plastic bags airtight,,,,,,,,,,,,,,used to see them advertised on US tv all the time,,,,,,,,,,,,,I think you know what I mean,,,,,,,,,,,,you put what ever you want to save(foodstuff) in the bag and put the machine on the opening and it sucks the air out,,,,,,,,,,vacuum sealing the product. Then seals the bag,,,,,,,,,,commercial ones are used here Im sure,,,,is there one of these on the retail market? Your guess is as good as mine,,,,,,,,,,,try watching the Thai home shopping channel on TV,,,,,,,,,, Kerr jars and lids would be hard to find here,,,,,,,,,,,,if you only need a few,,,,,,,,,,try to have a friend carry a box over on a plane with several boxes of lids and seals,,,,,,,,,,
April 13, 200818 yr If you don't mind a dry box that was designed for long term storage of photographic equipments they are available for 2,140 Baht at Fotofile in mbk. http://www.fotofile.net/product.php?id=1169 What it does, you pull the handle in the left in the picture to pump the air inside out (and thereby releasing moisture that can cause mould and fungus to build up on lens elements) to keep it dry. I think they come in two different sizes. Edited April 13, 200818 yr by Nordlys
