The K-Lite codec pack has the codecs for playing FLV files.

I use the inclued version of Media Player classic as I do not think VLC is a mature enough player yet

Why does windows media player not just play the flv's?

Why all these difficult geek programs

Why not have a standard right-click in ie7 or firefox to save or convert them

Am i missing something?

I'm looking for a flv converter to convert files from you tube so that I can play them on media player.

For FVL I use

To view/play them as FLV file:

FLV player1.3.3

To convert :

SUPER v 2008

SUPER © does for FREE what other encoders CAN'T do for money.

I vouch for SUPER. As good as it gets.

Aunsoft flv converter is a good one. It can convert flv files to other videos including AVI, MPEG, MOV, WMV, MP4, 3GPP. Then you can view the output videos with Media Player. It is easy to use and the conversion speed is fast. Moreover, with it, you can crop the displaying area, add water mark, show or hide the background color and choose the transparency, frame size etc.
