I've just picked up my shiney new Wii and hooked it upto my wireless router. Its now asking to do an update (code 61212) - should i let it?

I'm guessing its modded and ive not been able to find any links that say it will be safe to update it or not, any of you Wii owners know?

My son also got a brand new Wii recently (of course it's modded) and he faced the same question you have.

He went ahead (brave as he is) and did the update. No ill effect, everything is working great.

Thanks for the Reply, i updated the Wii and it still seems ok and plays some of the local disks. I have to say i was a bit nervous whilst the update was happening, but its all good.
