Just thought I'd report that I had a great day at the Thai festival, it was hot... 32C! There was lots of great street food at decent prices, first som tam in a year. Lots of Singha beer, lots of pretty Thai girls and their families, and lots of men wandering around in shorts who really shouldn't... lot's of fun spotting the Pattaya vets and their new wives... yes it was just like being back in Bangkok for a few hours.

A jolly good day what!!

Could not make it - friends brother in law died.

Nice report, albeit a tad brief - something is always better than nothing.

PS - I have 22 tonnes of Jasmine rice if anyone wants to PM me.

I didn't enjoy it much. Took too much patience to buy food because the service was so bad and the queues so chaotic.

Wasn't interested in the shopping or the shows so I left after about 90 mins and had a nice walk around the park.

I actually enjoyed the Trafalgar Sq do better.

I enjoyed it. Great day out.

I went to the Festival this year with the wife and I thought it was utter crap!, not many stalls, just the usual brick-a-brack.

Seemed to mostly consist of travel agents trying to sell condo's in Phuket. The fresh produce you could buy was well over priced.

The best thing about it was the weather, we only stayed 45mins cos there really wasn't much to do. Don't think we will be going again next year.

we spent the day there, got a lovely spot under a tree & spent a nice day out with friends & thai food & beer on tap. IMO it isn't really about how many stalls there are rather the atmosphere & location, well it is for us anyway. :o

last time i went to the thai festival in battersea park. a cat fight broke out between 2 thai birds!

must of been about 5 or 6 years ago.

near the entrance to the paved area. think it was over some fat beer belly falang.

brought a hole new meaning to the phrase muay thai, bit different to the usual thai cultural shows they normally put on.

as luck would have it being a normal english summers day, it pissed down.
