Port Not Opening Using Utorrent

Featured Replies

All of a sudden my ports are not opening using Utorrent, has anyone else been experiencing such a problem. If not any suggestions, I have made no changes to my set up so I am wondering if the ISP has been up to something?

True is having problems at the moment, there is a message saying so on the true customer service number.

I cant connect to VIOP or my Everquest game due to the problem. all the web sites seem to work, my guess is they are doing something to the system we wont like.

I just rang them and they didn't mention anything about that, but I suspect that it could be something to do with the massive rainstorm? Who knows the net had been working well lately.

I just rang them again they, say that they had a problem with international linkage but the problem has now been solved, I am still experiencing the same problems?

Same problem here since a little while. I doubt the rain has blocked their ports, but rather it seems that any port other than used for the usual web services (like 80 for http, 21 for ftp, etc) is blocked.

Yeah think this is the same problem I'm having. Unable to play PotBS this evening - can't get through to Sony Online's update server on port 7000. :o

Still screwed! I hope that it comes back soon as I am missing the snooker.

I can confirm it's a regional problem, though. I called someone with the same TRUE package in LadPrao and he has no problems connecting to the same ports I can't connect to.

Using True and there is a problem for sure. Just tried a couple of torrents that I know should download at maximum speed within two minutes yet it took about five minutes before even one would start downloading out of 600 seeds and 70 peers and it was a peer from Thailand so nothing international is getting through. I always use random ports and encryption so it's unlikely to be blocked by True. The rain has been very heavy. Saw a KFC and an MK closed today due to water damage caused when the roof caved in because of torrential rain.

Torrent speed reduced to a trickle on Hinet by TT&T in Chiang Mai as well... partially an international problem perhaps?

Must be an international problem. Only two seeds and one peer connected out of a possible 900+ and all three are Thai.

It's working again here.

Same here too Yeti! Thanks for all the replies everyone! :o

I've had all kinds of problems over the last week, from websites not loading correctly, to torrents running at a trickle to dedicated server downloads running at 30k :o

I hope its fixed soon, i need a stable connection by Friday :D

My connection's been awful this week as well. Funnily enough this morning not only is last night's hassle now fixed, but I'm getting the speediest/stablest connection I've had for a while. I bet it'll only last until this afternoon's storm...
