Remote Desktop Connection

Featured Replies

Hi

We use True as our ISP and have a web server located in the UK.

Yesterday both our SQL connection and our Remote Desktop Connection stopped working and it's causing us lots of problems.

When I try and connect via RDC I get the following error message:

-----------------------------------

Remote Desktop Disconnected

-----------------------------------

The client could not connect to the remote computer.

Remote connections might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept new connections.

It is also possible that network problems are preventing your connection.

Please try connecting again later. If the problem continues to occur, contact your administrator.

When I asked someone at our hosting company to connect via RDC they can without a problem. Our website is working fine.

I can both Ping and TraceRoute to our server (the first TraceRoute hop seems to take a 5 or 6 seconds).

I guess that this will require a call to True but, as it's outside of the normal "I can't connect to the internet" type of question I was wondering if anyone has a different phone number to an English speaking techy? Or does anyone have any idea what's happening?

Thanks

Mick

Well there's sods law for you. From 6pm in Thailand yesterday until two minutes after I posted this topic I couldn't connect to our server.

I post this topic and BANG! connection resumed. That's the power of ThaiVisa I suppose.

Mods can delete this post as someone obviously pressed a button somewhere and sorted this problem out.

Problem solved.
