Away from NEP/Cowboy/Pong. Have you tried the site Bangkok tonight The forum is set up for all kinds of night time activities and theres a very good listing of differing types of bars. Again it depends on your taste and I suppose where you will be staying at the time. I'm there on 9/10 August and will be having a few sherberts myself Gullivers Tavern on Suk Soi 5 is pretty good for a place to start from... Therre is some professional girls, but also students looking for good time or "extra". To go therre, Take BTS Sky train, and Stop in Nana. It's not too far.
