Chipping A Honda Civic

Featured Replies

if I were to chip my Civic would I notice that it had more power, would it really be worth doing?

its a 2006 2.0 Liter, it still has a warranty which I am not to bothered about.

what I really want to know is, how much difference will it make to the power it has already?

you should be making around 15-20hp and like 20-40nm,,,,,

ask for driver motor sports, in chula...behind mbk...they specialize in hondas and my ecu was done their for my civic

I was told a unichip (available in BKK), will give around 20HP at the flywheel on a civic 2.0 (the 7th gen), as measured on a dastek dynometer. However, a review of its application in Malaysia on your car (http://www.hypertunemag.com/powerpages/apr2007/p1.php), the 2.0, gave only an icrease of 8HP or so to the wheels. The unichip is also around 20000 baht, inclusing tuning. Well worth it for 20 HP, but a bit marginal for only 8 hp.

Actually I want someone to take the plunge before i do it, so you can contact: [email protected], at GT-1. He speaks english, so can fill you in on what they have. if you contact him, report back your findings here.

It would be worthwhile doing other modifications first, before getting a piggyback, as the piggyback allows tuning to make the most out of those mods. I don't even know if a header is available for this car - I thought the catalytic converter is fused to the standard exhaust intake. I have a 2.0 also, and just putting in a reusable K&N filter makes a little difference. It saves money in the long run too.

I think greddy e-manage also works on this car. You can ask questions on rcweb.net also.

Good luck and let us know what you find out.

driver motor sport, chipped my b16a ecu for 4,000bhat.....

as for the ecu, you should atleast find cam gears for your car...(hks about 5000 you need 2, then get a lightweight flywheel. they can be buogh for about 2,000. so if you spend about 20,000 on this pack, and includes tunning, your acceleration would be imporved grately!!!! and the throttle respones to....! with the cam's you can actually adjust the timming of your engine, to increase power and tq even better. all togather with this package you should get about 15-25whp and about 20tq.

its not worth getting a greddy ecu if you are not gona modify the cam, headers, exhaust, etc....and thats gona cost you atleast 40,000 +

you could look into a stroker kit, it should cost nearly about 20-40,000. increasing the boresize of your cilinders, more fuel, more air, more power ( :o it should increase about 15-20whp and about 20-60!tq)

btw 20hp to the flywheel is about 11whp/
