Driving To Bkk And Rayong

Featured Replies

Folks

Any ideas how long it takes to drive from Hua Hin to Bangkok and Rayong?

Cheers

2.5 hours to BKK - then another 2 hours plus to Rayong

However crossing BKK can be a nightmare so this incalculable factor needs to be borne in mind.

I've done this trip often. Best was 6 hours - worst was nigh on 10 hours!

Thanks mate, much apprciated

Wonder how long I could do it in a boat.....what a way to travel

In a serious mode the best advise is to get a GPS if you don't already possess one. Traveling across BKK is so much easier.

Seems you might be making this trip frequently (as I do) and I find it absolutely invaluable.

Just a thought

Hi “Desertexile

Now that the new Kanchanapisak Bridge

is open you can by pass all of Bangkok. (Sorry big file)

As you can see at the bottom of the this map on your left you have Rama II road (to Hua Hin), at that juction take the route 9 turning right which is the Southern Outer-ring road heading towards the new airport.

The ------------- see maps below:-

that road has been open since November 15Th 2007.

Take exit 20 eastwards (turning right) then you pass the Airport on you right hand side and follow the signs to Pattaya and Rayong thereafter.

No toll fees as yet, on this new section, but on the Motorway pay twice 30 baht each.

4-5 hours would be correct as “The Vulcan” mentioned.

I travel this road each week to near the Airport from Kan and cross this bridge.

Hope this helps all folks.

Yours truly,

Kan Win :o
