The FCC is now doing the same thing as they did for the truckers, proposing English proficiency requirements for call centers so Americans can actually understand the person on the other end. Same week, same administration enforcing basic standards again. The FCC is pushing the same idea for call centers , requiring American Standard English proficiency. Countries like the Philippines speak English well with a clearer accent, but India has heavy dialects that can be killer to understand, and even some Brits I can't follow sometimes. Basic clear English isn't optional when customers (or drivers on the highway) need to communicate fast and accurately. This should help the American citizens employment opportunities while cutting out thousands of foreign jobs. https://x.com/FCC/status/2037189281400115213?s=20
