Minivan To Penang

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone has an idea of the cost and time of the minivan from Krabi to Penang. What time do they leave Krabi usually?

I'm traveling down from the north Andaman coast and is wondering if it is possible to do this journey in a day if I arrive Krabi at around 2pm.

As far as I know you'd have take a mini van to Hadyai first and then on to PEnang.

If you leave Krabi at 2pm you'll reach hadyai at around 6pm so probably too late to go on to Penang. Think the last mini van Hadyai-Penang leaves at about 4 or 5pm.

... and they fill up quickly on Sundays with Malaysians going home from a weekend in Hat Yai.

I did it from Phuket a couple months ago, got a normal first class bus to Hadyai i think it was 600 Baht (maybe a little more) and 250 Baht for the minibus from Hadyai to Penang, in total about 10 hours and not as bad as i expected. Coming back i got to Hadyai around 20.00 and there was only 1 2nd class bus still to go that night it was only 350 Baht not bad but not much leg room.

I recommend the normal bus rather than a minibus as far as Hadyai.
