lightstar Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Hi all, I was approached by one of the girls who works in a restaurant I go to, to see if I could teach her English. Was just seeing if anyone who's qualified and working in Chiang Mai would like to contact her and maybe take her on as a private student. I don't know how much she can pay. PM me if you are interested. Cheers!
Tywais Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Will move to the Chiangmai Forum for local knowledge. Will leave a link in the Teaching forum though. //Moved//
PeaceBlondie Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 There are lots of teachers in Chiang Mai who read ThaiVisa. I think they would be foolish to charge less than 300 baht per hour for private lessons, if they are qualified. 400 per hour would be on the high side (but BKK is much higher). She needs to be serious if she wishes to get her money's worth. She can also attend small classes at an appropriate learning level at any of the numerous English language schools around the city, which would be cheaper for her. Congratulations to the OP for helping his friend, without thinking that unqualified folks can teach English just because their Mum taught them.
